Ten years ago, Glen Park was considered an outlying neighborhood on San Francisco’s south side where you could easily score a simple single-family home for under a million.

No more. A three-level modern mammoth spread across a double lot just sold for $9.7 million, marking the neighborhood’s highest on-market sale ever, according to Socket Site.

The 5,300-square-foot home at 143 Laidley is down the street from the 80 Laidley property that previously held the record after selling for $5.4 million in spring 2017.

Listed in October at $10 million after a 10-year-building project, 143 Laidley features five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms spread across 5,300 square-feet. It’s loaded with high-tech amenities,  such as electric charging stations in the garage and surround-sound in a recreation room.

On the main level, floor-to-ceiling vanishing windows that can be moved into the wall with the press of a button, opening up a 32-foot-wide deck. There’s also a 1,300-bottle wine cellar, a Calacatta marble island in the kitchen and a courtyard with a waterfall.

The median sales price in Glen Park was $1.3 million in July 2017. Seven years ago, it was $546,000, according to Trulia.
